We used historic census data from the IPUMS National Historic GIS to look at some basic housing unit trends in Nashville/Davidson County. This includes a look at housing unit growth between 1990 and 2010 and changes to housing vacancy rates over that same period.
In this storymap, we start with a short discussion centered on using census crosswalks to access historic census data and then show a series of maps which help visualize changes across the community.
