We’re excited to celebrate #GISDay. The State Data Center uses Geographic Information System (GIS) technology almost every day to help communicate information about Tennessee, our communities and changes occurring across the state.
There is a lot to celebrate about GIS in this state. The use of geospatial technology in state and local governments earned Tennessee a B+ from the National States Geographic Information Council, among the best in the country. There is a strong community of geospatial professionals that collaborate, network and learn from one another and future professionals train at the state’s higher education institutions.
In celebration of #GISDay, here are some application highlighting ways we use GIS at the Tennessee State Data Center.
